Liquor by the drink confusion

Pittsboro, NC - What boggles me about the liquor by the drink debate (cleverly placed as a "special" election with low turn out), is that the folks who are crying "we don't want strip malls in Chatham and big box stores! Support local businesses! Slow Growth! (Really no growth)

Yet these cries conflict with their no growth desires so they can enjoy a Martini at Cabellas or whatever "fancy" restauarants you claim will bring the extra revenue because they can serve liquor by the drink .

My opposition to liquor by the drink is not for religious reasons. I oppose this allowance because of the many facts about the increase of alcohol related incidents and accidents, etc after such laws are enacted.

I also understand that many of my Conservative buddies don't share my view and I understand and respect that. I am speaking totally based on my own SoCon POV.
