Pittsboro, NC - I just saw where Ann Hart is "retiring" as our superintendent. Let's put it in words I understand - it's quitting. It's quitting with a month's notice. It's quitting with our tests scores lower and morale in the gutter. She's moving on to bigger and better; just as most education administrators do these days. Retiring is not what I'd call it.
Her leaving with no notice is just an extension of what her administration has been about - HER. It's been the Ann Hart show all along and I for one, will be glad to see it close.
I hope the Board of Education has better luck and judgment in hiring her replacement. Chatham School employees deserve a leader who will respect them and give them credit for the job they do.
