Don't gentrify Devil's Tramping Ground

Pittsboro, NC - A sign and a foot bridge to the Devil's Tramping Ground? No way, please. We don't need to gentrify everything. This place is meant to be just the way it is. Hard to find. Searching for it is part of the adventure. You have to stop and ask the locals, get their story and feel for the DTG.

Driving around that part of the county is lovely and at night a bit spooky. I went several times as a teenager. It freaked me out.

The trash, well, that could be cleaned up. It's the same at the rope swing on the Haw and we just decided to bring a bag with us the next time we go. If it bothers you, clean it up.

But I'd never want to see a sign to the rope swing and benches built to sit on. Then it would just "belong" to a different class of things.

Leave well enough alone please.
