ClydeFEST was a tremendous success thanks to dozens of volunteers

Bynum, NC - The 11th Annual ClydeFEST Kids Carnival of Folk Art Fun was a tremendous success thanks to work on the part of dozens of volunteers. Attendees numbered just under a thousand and came from as far away as Australia. A wonderful new addition this year was the Clyde Jones Camp Scholarships that were awarded to five creative young people from Bynum and a new game called Bubble Trouble.

In addition to the much-coveted Clyde Critters won via raffle and auction, ClydeFEST attendees and volunteers won raffle prizes from: Advanced Auto; Carolina Brewery; Doug’s Auto; Glazed Expectations; Mama Dip’s; Marbles Museum; Museum of Life and Science; New Horizons; Pittsboro Auto Care; Siler City Country Club; Something Else; Starlight Mead; Sullivan’s Music; Townsend Bertram; UnWined, and YMCA…and a big ol’ shout out of gratitude to our local Lowe’s Home Store in Pittsboro that provided plywood (for Critterville!) and water.

ChathamArts thanks the following performing artists who entertained us: The phenomenal Takiri Folklorico Latin Dance Troupe; Carolina Lightning; Sarah Osborne and Joe Keasler; Justin Johnson and his Gypsy Guitar; The Bouncing Bulldogs International Rope Skipping Team; Happy Dan the Magic Man; and Storytellers Cynthia Raxter, Duke Moose and Miss Suz.

Thank you to food vendors from Chatham Co.: Dusty’s Donuts; Little Dippers Italian Ices; Triple J Ice Cream; Barney’s Hot Dogs; Howard Alston’s Fish Truck; and The Bynum Ruritans….and Bulkogi Korean BBQ from Wake County.

ChathamArts appreciates the support of ClydeFEST 2012 Sponsors-shirt sponsors: Flying Dog Productions; The City Tap Bar; Virlies Grill; Cooper Brothers Citgo; PIttsboro Toys; Barringer Family Dentistry; Liquidamber Gallery; Carr Amps; Sweet Oven Bakery; BellaDonna; Circle City Screen Printing and Hope Crossing Animal Hospital.

Please patronize businesses that support the work of ChathamArts as we work to enrich education, engage communities, and enhance livability in Chatham County.
