Chatham Area Shag Association nominated for Beach Music Award

Pittsboro, NC - Chatham Area Shag Association, along with sister clubs, Bass Lake Shag Society, Eno Beach Shag Club and Sanford Area Society of Shaggers were nominated for a Carolina Beach Music Award for Shag Club Event of the Year for "Shaggin' With Your Sweetheart" which was held at the General Store Cafe on February 15, 2009.

Chatham Area Shag Association, along with sister clubs, Bass Lake Shag Society and Eno Beach Shag Club were nominated for a Carolina Beach Music Award for Shag Club Event of the Year for 'Shaggin' Into Summer' which was held at the General Store Cafe on June 21, 2009.

There were five events nominated and CASA and her sister clubs received two out of the five nominations. We had some good entertainment for the events. For "Shaggin' With Your Sweetheart" we had Neal 'Soul Dog' Furr as DJ with Johnny Wilson and the BigTime Party Band as a surprise guests. We had Pittsboro rockin' with The Castaways for "Shaggin' Into Summer." CASA's own John Arthurs plays guitar and sings with the band.
