Siler City - Two people died in traffic accidents Thursday night and Friday morning.
Ahmed Sahmy Sherif, 19, of 15291 N.C. 902, Bear Creek, died at 11:05 p.m. Thursday in an accident on Old U.S. 421, about 3.4 miles south of Siler City, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.
Sherif lost control of his vehicle in a curve, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, Highway Patrol officials said. He wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle by the impact, according to the Highway Patrol.
Patricia Fields Hart, 51, of 16062 N.C. 902, Bear Creek, died at 7:50 a.m. Friday in a two-car accident on Bonlee School Road, about 6.4 miles south of Siler City.
Patrol officials said Hart was driving north when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction crossed the centerline and struck her vehicle head-on.
