Stolen car sold as scrap metal

On June 26, 2008 Kendrick Edwards reported a vehicle stolen to Deputy Summers. Detective Sergeants David Green and Chris Perry investigated the case. On July 3, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested Steven Earl Brown, 28, of 3080-B Lystra Church Road, Chapel Hill.

Mr. Brown allegedly stole the vehicle and took it to TT&E Metal and Iron in Garner. The vehicle was sold to TT&E as scrape metal. The vehicle was crushed before being located. Mr. Brown was charged with felonious Possession of Stolen Property and was released on a $3,000.00 unsecured bond. Mr. Brown is scheduled to appear in Pittsboro District Court on August 4. Detectives are continuing to investigate the case.
