Siler City, NC - Police are investigating the stabbing death of a Siler City man Sunday afternoon.

Kelly Gene Martin, 39, of 1002 13th St. was stabbed once in the chest on a Siler City footpath near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard about 1:50 p.m. Sunday.

Martin died at Chatham Hospital. By Monday afternoon, police had not made any arrests in the stabbing.

The footpath is known for drug activity, but no drugs were found on Martin. Police don't think he was robbed and didn't know Monday whether he was armed.
