Siler City, NC - A Siler City man has been arrested for attempted 1st degree rape when he was accused of attempting to have sex with a female during an altercation that took place at 314 Shelby Lane, Siler City on Saturday evening.

Chatham County deputies responded to a “man with a gun” call at that location when housemates of the suspect ran next door and called law enforcement after they were assaulted by the suspect. The suspect advised that he was going to get a gun and that gave the pair time to get out of the house and run to a neighbor’s house.
