An investigation into an alleged sexual assault was brought to a close on Friday, June 3, when Sgt. D.S. McKee arrested William Earl Pendergrass, 57, of 6433 Siler City Glendon Road, Siler City.
Pendergrass is accused of entering a bedroom of an 18 year old victim and sexually assaulting her while she was resting. The incident is alleged to have occurred on June 16 at the home of Pendergrass. Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor.
Pendergrass was arrested without incident and charged with Felonious 2nd Degree Sex Offense and was jailed under $20,000.00 secured bond. His first court appearance is June 6 in Pittsboro District Court.
