Siler City, NC - A man and woman were charged with drug trafficking Friday after police found nearly 50 pounds marijuana, cash and weapons in their possession.
Zitlaly Ramirez Ortiz, 26, and Clark Wesley Polk, 26, were charged with trafficking in marijuana, conspiracy to traffic in marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.
Police, acting on a tip, went to their house at 643 E. 4th St in Siler City.
The man who opened the door admitted that a smell coming from the home was marijuana that he had smoked.
There also was marijuana in plain view so officers got search warrants for the 4th Street home and for another house at 615 E. Cardinal St.
In addition to the marijuana, police recovered about $4,000 in cash, a computer, scales, two weapons, drug paraphernalia and other items.
