RBC Centura Bank In Governors Village Robbed

Chatham County - At approximately 11:00 AM, The RBC Centura Bank in Governors Village in Northern Chatham County was robbed by two black males in their early 20’s. The subjects entered the bank, demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. In making their escape, the vehicle they were driving was wrecked and abandoned near the bank. The two left on foot heading north towards Durham near the Old Farrington Road. The vehicle, a Red Jeep Cherokee, had been stolen from Durham yesterday, March 23. The FBI and SBI were called in to assist in the investigation. Deputies utilized the agency’s canine and followed the suspect’s tracks to the New Hope Creek near the Durham / Chatham Line. Officers located several articles of clothing on the path of flight. Detectives are currently following leads in the case.
