Pot eradication nets 20 plants

Pittbsoro, NC - The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, Army National Guard Air and Ground Units, North Carolina State Bureau Of Investigation, SBI Ground Unit and North Carolina State Highway Patrol Air Unit conducted a marijuana eradication in Chatham County on Thursday. The mission was primarily conducted in the southwestern part of the county.

Located in Siler City off of Airport Rd., 4 marijuana plants in one plot were eradicated. Located in Bennett off of Louis Brown Rd., 6 marijuana plants in two plots and off of Joe Benson Rd., 2 marijuana plants in one plot were eradicated. Located off of Bonlee Bennett Road 14 marijuana plants in one plot were eradicated. Located off of Gilmore Rd., 3 plants were in one plot were eradicated. All plants were ranging in size from 4 to 6 Feet. All the seized marijuana plants were destroyed by burning. The Estimated value of the 29 marijuana plants at maturity is $58,000.00. There are other operations planned in the near future.
