Moncure man sought for largest methamphetamine seizure in Sheriff's history

Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Narcotics Division and the Chatham County SIRT Unit executed a search warrant located at 192 Ellis Road in Moncure and found more than 12 ounces of Methamphetamine and large amounts of other illegal drugs. According to Lt. Charles Gardner, Narcotics Supervisor for the Sheriff’s Office, the Methamphetamine seizure was the largest in the history of the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies are looking for Tommy Gene East Jr., 34, of 248 Ellis Road, Moncure.

Warrants have been issued for numerous Felony drug charges to include: Possession With Intent To Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine (Schedule II), Trafficking in Methamphetamine by possession, Possession With Intent To Sell and Deliver Cocaine (Schedule II), Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession With Intent To Sell and Deliver Marijuana (Schedule VI), and Possession of Anabolic Steroids (Schedule III).

Officer recovered more than 78 Grams of Cocaine, 348.4 Grams Crystal Methamphetamine (ICE) 2774.8 Grams Of Marijuana and Anabolic Steroids. Street value of drugs seized: Cocaine $ 3,500.00, Crystal Methamphetamine 25,000.00 Marijuana $ 17,000.00 and Anabolic Steroids $ 4000.00. Also seized were a 45 Caliber pistol and a 20 Gauge Shotgun.
