Man arrested after 135 mph vehicle chase
[Aug. 26, 2005] Chatham County deputies arrested a Hubert man just after midnight on Wednesday after he refused to stop for a traffic violation. Deputy Tom D’Angelo attempted to stop William Boone, 21, of 110 Riggs Road, Hubert, North Carolina for an insurance violation in the Cole Park Plaza area of Chatham County.

Sheriff's office receives award
[Aug. 22, 2005] Last week, Chatham County Sheriff Richard Webster accepted an award of grateful recognition for the Sheriff’s Office’s involvement in the Ride For Kids® campaign that was conducted on May 15. The non-profit foundation which operates the Ride For Kids® events across America is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States. In 2000, the Foundation redoubled its efforts to expand its programs across the country and invites every motorcyclist in America to join in this very needed, and always fun event. This event raised more than $40,000.00.

Ice Team makes narcotics arrests
[Aug. 21, 2005] Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) and Canine Units charged two people with drug violations after traffic stops were conducted on Friday. Deputies stopped Termaine Thompson, 23, of 2825 Carver Drive, Sanford on US 1 in Moncure and found 8 grams of Marijuana in his possession. Officers also stopped Michael Marsh, 42, of 61 Lee Street, Pittsboro on Friday on Hillsborough Street in Pittsboro and found 9.8 grams of Marijuana in his possession.

Stolen ATV recovered, arrest made
[Aug. 10, 2005] Chatham County Deputies arrested a Siler City man for Felonious Larceny of a stolen ATV vehicle on Monday. On December 14, 2002, a Honda TRX 450 four wheeler valued at $8,000 was reported stolen from the residence of Elizabeth Binette located at 163 RC Overman Rd. in Siler City.

Siler City man charged with attempted rape
[Aug. 8, 2005] A Siler City man has been arrested for attempted 1st degree rape when he was accused of attempting to have sex with a female during an altercation that took place at 314 Shelby Lane, Siler City on Saturday evening. The suspect, Lonnie Baxter Christopher, 44, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault inflicting serious injury.

Pittsboro woman killed in car wreck
[Aug. 3, 2005] Anna Marie Milliken of Pittsboro and UNC-Wilmington, died Aug 1 from injuries sustained in a vehicle crash in Chatham County. She was 21. She graduated from Northwood High School in Pittsboro in 2002 and was a rising senior at UNC-Wilmington. While home from college, she worked for Allen & Son Pit Cooked Bar-B-Q in Bynum. She attended Lystra Baptist Church.

Chatham County Sheriff's office hosts multi-agency meeting
[Jul. 26, 2005] On Thursday July 21, 2005, the Chatham County Sheriff's Office hosted it’s first Multi Jurisdictional VICE / Narcotics Meeting at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro. The purpose of this meeting was to bring together various City and County Agencies in the Central Triad area, and discuss the War on Drugs as it pertains to local law enforcement agencies.

Deputies arrest Bear Creek man on cocaine charges
[Jul. 19, 2005] The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, the Special Incident Response Team (SIRT) and a Special Operations Counter Drug Agent of the National Guard executed a search warrant on Friday night at 5467 Old Hwy 421 South, Bear Creek; the residence of John Christopher Slade, 26.

[Jul. 19, 2005] Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) and Canine Units charged a Carrboro man with drug violations after a traffic stop was conducted on Sunday afternoon in Pittsboro. Deputies stopped Ronald Glenn, 39, of 200 Barnes Street, Carrboro and found 5 grams of Marijuana in his possession.

Chatham Ice team makes marijuana arrest
[Jul. 19, 2005] Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s ICE team arrested a Sanford man on a felony drug charge on Sunday evening after a traffic stop was conducted on NC 87 South of Pittsboro near Old Sanford Road. The stop was the result of a directed patrol in the southern part of the county.

Siler City man arrested on forgery charges
[Jul. 17, 2005] Jeremy Cull, 31, of 569 RC Overman Road Siler City was arrested on Thursday by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. Cull is accused of stealing mail, cashing personal checks and using a credit card on the account of his ex-girlfriend, Cathy Sikora-Hanby, of Siler City Snow Camp Road, Siler City over the past 6 months without her permission.

Three-county investigation leads to arrest for breaking and entering
[Jul. 16, 2005] Chatham County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a Chapel Hill man on Breaking, Entering and Larceny charges pursuant to incidents that occurred earlier this week. Investigators have been working five breaking and entering cases in the Farrington and Polks Landing area since last Thursday. Kevin Allen of Chapel Hill was linked to several crimes in Chatham County, Orange County and Chapel Hill and was arrested early Thursday morning in Chapel Hill after pawning two stolen musical instruments in the City of Durham.

Siler City man arrested for stealing vehicle
[Jul. 9, 2005] On July 7, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Siler City man for possession of a stolen vehicle. Detective David McKee obtained a warrant for Timothy Person, 25, of 208 Brook Ave, Siler City after his investigation was conducted.
