[Sep. 25, 2005] A Siler City man was arrested on Thursday for six counts of statutory rape when he was accused of having sex with a 14-year-old child. Chatham County Deputies began working a runaway juvenile case last week when they received information that an underage female voluntarily got into a car driven by Juan Escalona.

[Sep. 6, 2005] Chatham County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a Pittsboro man for possessing a stolen tractor. On September 1, deputies recovered a stolen John Deere Tractor from a resident in the Bear Creek area. The tractor was reported stolen by Tommy King of McLaurin Road, Bear Creek on October 4, 2002 and is valued at $18,000.00.

Deputy Tom D’Angelo attempted to stop William Boone, 21, of 110 Riggs Road, Hubert, North Carolina for an insurance violation in the Cole Park Plaza area of Chatham County.

[Aug. 22, 2005] Last week, Chatham County Sheriff Richard Webster accepted an award of grateful recognition for the Sheriff’s Office’s involvement in the Ride For Kids® campaign that was conducted on May 15. The non-profit foundation which operates the Ride For Kids® events across America is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States. In 2000, the Foundation redoubled its efforts to expand its programs across the country and invites every motorcyclist in America to join in this very needed, and always fun event. This event raised more than $40,000.00.

[Aug. 21, 2005] Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Interstate Criminal Enforcement (ICE) and Canine Units charged two people with drug violations after traffic stops were conducted on Friday. Deputies stopped Termaine Thompson, 23, of 2825 Carver Drive, Sanford on US 1 in Moncure and found 8 grams of Marijuana in his possession. Officers also stopped Michael Marsh, 42, of 61 Lee Street, Pittsboro on Friday on Hillsborough Street in Pittsboro and found 9.8 grams of Marijuana in his possession.

[Aug. 10, 2005] Chatham County Deputies arrested a Siler City man for Felonious Larceny of a stolen ATV vehicle on Monday. On December 14, 2002, a Honda TRX 450 four wheeler valued at $8,000 was reported stolen from the residence of Elizabeth Binette located at 163 RC Overman Rd. in Siler City.

[Aug. 8, 2005] A Siler City man has been arrested for attempted 1st degree rape when he was accused of attempting to have sex with a female during an altercation that took place at 314 Shelby Lane, Siler City on Saturday evening. The suspect, Lonnie Baxter Christopher, 44, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault inflicting serious injury.

She graduated from Northwood High School in Pittsboro in 2002 and was a rising senior at UNC-Wilmington. While home from college, she worked for Allen & Son Pit Cooked Bar-B-Q in Bynum. She attended Lystra Baptist Church.

[Jul. 17, 2005] Jeremy Cull, 31, of 569 RC Overman Road Siler City was arrested on Thursday by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. Cull is accused of stealing mail, cashing personal checks and using a credit card on the account of his ex-girlfriend, Cathy Sikora-Hanby, of Siler City Snow Camp Road, Siler City over the past 6 months without her permission.
