[Jun. 28, 2007] Chatham County Investigators have arrested a Durham man for the murder of a North Chatham woman who was found in her home more than 6 weeks ago. On Saturday, May12, Chatham County deputies responded to Red Pine Road in Northern Chatham County to inquire on the well-being of a woman who her parents said haven’t heard from her in several days. Around 9:10 am, deputies found the body of a white female, later identified as Tracy Lynn Baldwin, 38, of 29 Red Pine Road, Chapel Hill.
 
Siler City man arrested for breaking and entering
[May 27, 2007] The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Siler City man on Tuesday in reference to a Breaking and Entering that occurred at the Silk Hope Service Station on May 16. A suspect broke into the service station in the early hours last Wednesday and stole approximately $300 dollars worth of scratch off Lottery tickets.

The man entered the post office and asked about buying four money orders. When the clerk produced the money orders, he reached into his pants and pulled out a black pistol.

[Apr. 11, 2007] An off-duty Chatham County sheriff's deputy was killed early Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident. Deputy Aaron Gabriel Whitaker, 24, of N.C. Highway 42 in Carbonton, was off-duty when he was involved in an accident in Moore County at about 2:45 a.m.

While officers were conducting their investigation, Christopher Teague, 27, of 4640 Silk Hope Gum Springs Road, Pittsboro was coming out of a wooded area with a flashlight strapped to his forehead.
