Jesus Narciso Alvarez-Alba, 31, of Wilmington, had a domestic violence protective order issued against him by his estranged wife. Investigators say early Sunday morning he forced his way into her home in Moncure and raped her.

[May 30, 2013] A two year investigation involving numerous law enforcement agencies in and around Chatham County has netted 10 arrests of local residents. In 2012, the General Assembly enacted a law requiring people who possess and intend to transport more than 25 pounds of copper material to get a transportation permit from the local Sheriff and produce the permit at the business making the transaction. Investigators received information that Hayes Iron and Metal of Siler City was receiving copper without requiring the permit and many people in and around Chatham County were cashing in on this illegal activity.

[Mar. 4, 2013] Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the International Academy of Public Safety announced on February 15 that they have successfully launched an on-line Academy for Ethical Leadership Development for the agency. The academy currently delivers over twenty (20) hours of comprehensive and SCORM certified “Ethics and Leadership” courses to sworn deputies and employees of the Sheriff’s Office with additional courses under development.

Christopher Angelo Manzo, 22, of the 600 block of Silverberry Drive in Pittsboro, is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old boy during an arranged meeting at Bur-Mil Park, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Jonathan McKeown, 41, attacked the woman on Friday, March 2, when she confronted him about the theft, Maj. Gary Blakenship said. He dragged her to a different room of her house, assaulted her and then fled.

Jorge Aguilera, 34, of 1305 Sunset Place in Siler City, was charged Monday, November 21 with first-degree kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of Edwin Gonzalez on Oct. 1, 2006.
