Deputies arrest Bear Creek man on drug charges[Sep. 18, 2004] On September 15, The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit with the assistance of the State Bureau of Investigation, executed a search warrant at 4407 Old US 421, Bear Creek; the residence of Herbert Junior Hayes, 47.
Narcotics officers arrest two on felony drug charges[Sep. 18, 2004] On September 14, The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 220 Andrews Store Road, Pittsboro; the residence of Edward Charles Farrington, 51, after an undercover drug operation was completed at the residence. After the search, Farrington, along with Deborah Wall, 36, of 131 Half Dollar Road, Chapel Hill was arrested for Felony Possession of Cocaine.
Chatham County authorities search for missing man[Sep. 17, 2004] Siler City - Town police and Chatham County sheriff's deputies are searching for an elderly man who went missing in late August. David "J.D." Fikes, 73, was last seen at Love's Creek Mobile Home Park on Aug. 30. He is a black male about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. A description of his clothing and a photograph were not available.
Lexington man arrested on B&E charges[Sep. 17, 2004] The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office recently received word that the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office had taken into custody one of two suspects involved in several crimes in central North Carolina, including Chatham County. The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants on Anthony Duncan, also known with the street name of “Amp” for several property crimes in the area.
Lexington man arrested on B&E charges[Sep. 17, 2004] Authorities have arrested a man suspected of several property crimes including stealing a car in Chatham County. The Davidson County Sheriff's Office arrested Anthony Duncan, aka "Amp." The Chatham County Sheriff's Office had issued warrants for Duncan for two counts of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Chatham narcotics agents recovers 56 pot plants[Sep. 5, 2004] Chatham County Narcotics Agents conducted an eradication operation and recovered 56 very large Marijuana plants this past Sunday off of Vander Oldham Road in southwestern Chatham County.
Chatham man charged with DWI[Aug. 23, 2004] Carrboro - Police charged a Pittsboro man Sunday with driving while impaired, expired license tag and failure to produce registration card.
Canine tracks down fleeing suspect[Aug. 17, 2004] A local man was arrested after deputies of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Pittsboro Police Department surrounded him in an area near Small Street in Pittsboro. The man, William Judd, 43, of 43 Poston Mobile Home Park, Pittsboro temporarily eluded officers when they approached his residence to arrest him on warrants that were in the possession of the Pittsboro Police Department.
Chatham County deputies seize marijuana plants[Aug. 6, 2004] On Aug 4th, a marijuana eradication operation was conducted in Chatham County by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Unit, State Bureau of Investigation and the Air National Guard. Drug Agents of the Sheriff’s Office received information that marijuana was growing in areas near Campbell Road in the Goldston area and Gilmore Lodge Road near US 421.
Staley man arrested on rape charges[Aug. 3, 2004] A seven month long investigation involving a sexual assault to a minor child has lead to the arrest of a Staley man. Ray Lewis Green, 57, of 4551 Staley Snow Camp Road, Staley turned himself in to authorities after Chatham County Detective Joe Edwards issued the warrants on July 28.
Narcotics unit busy with arrests[Jul. 12, 2004] Two extensive undercover drug operations came to a close this week as agents from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit executed a Search Warrant at 1897 Ed Clapp Road, Siler City and arrested Antonio Valencia Garcia, 25, of the same address.
Crimestoppers tip leads to arrest[Jul. 8, 2004] On July 8, deputies of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office investigated a Crimestoppers tip that indicated there were stolen vehicles located at 327 Rosser Road, Bear Creek. Deputy Steve Maynor arrested Cindy Baldwin, 43, of the same address, and charged her with 3 counts of Felonious Possession of Stolen Vehicles after locating 3 stolen vehicles on her property.
Sheriff's office receives law enforcement equipment[Jul. 6, 2004] Several months ago, after recognizing the many equipment needs of the Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Webster had an inventory conducted of obsolete and out dated equipment in the Office. The Sheriff exchanged 75 handguns and rifles for 15 Remington 12 gauge shotguns, 5 Glock 40 caliber pistols, 12 Streamlight flashlights, 24 sets of leg irons and 17 sets of handcuffs.
