The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in identifying an assault victim that was found in Northern Chatham County this morning about 9:00 am. An unidentified nude Black male, light skin, between the ages of 25 and 35 was found near Eagle Point off of Hwy 751 near the Durham County line. He is medium height with a thin build, with corn-rows in his hair and has an tattoo across his back that investigators are trying to identify. The victim was seriously assaulted and is unable to assist deputies because of massive head injuries. The injuries appeared to be the result of a severe beating. It is unclear at this time how long the victim was there and investigators are still attempting to determine if the assault took place at Eagle Point or if he was dropped off and left for dead.

The victim was found by a woman who was walking her dog in a parking lot across from Farrell’s Store off of Hwy 751 near the intersection of New Hope Church Road. He was air lifted to UNC Hospital and is in critical condition. Anyone with information on the identity of this victim or the events that took place is urged to contact the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office as soon as possible at 919 542-2911.
