Siler City, NC - The state Highway Patrol is seeking information about a fatal hit-and-run accident Sunday on U.S. 421 between Siler City and Sanford.
About 3 a.m. Sunday, a pickup truck hit a pedestrian standing on U.S. 421 near the entrance of the Sports Arena, said Trooper D.C. Pate. The driver didn't stop, and law enforcement is looking for the vehicle and its driver.
Ismael Dionicio Lorenzo, 23, of Lot 65 Big Spring Mobile Home Park in Sanford, died at the scene.
The truck was a midnight blue Dodge Ram, made between 1994 and 2001, according to pieces that fell off at the scene, Pate said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Highway Patrol at (800) 445-8621 or Chatham County CrimeStoppers at 542-6116
