Siler City, NC - Zeferino Hermillo Lopez-Torres, 33, of 3313 South NC Hwy 119, Haw River was arrested earlier this month by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest was a result of a 2 month-long investigation conducted by Detective Chris Perry.
The victim, Antonio Palacids of Siler City stated that someone was using his name and social security number without his permission. Lopez-Torres was developed as a suspect shortly afterwards and arrested without incident and charged with Felonious Financial Identity Theft.
He was released under a $1,000.00 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on March 30.
