Goldston man arrested for gowing marijuana

Pittsboro, NC - Chatham County authorities arrested a Goldston man after they discovered four small plots of marijuana at his home.

Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Air National Guard and State Bureau of Investigation conducted a marijuana eradication operation last week in southwestern Chatham County and discovered the plots off of Wilson Road.

Chatham County Narcotics Investigators then searched the home of Manuel Martin Jr., 35, of 699 Wilson Road, Goldston.

Detectives seized 12 marijuana plants and nearly 40 grams of processed marijuana during the search. The total street value of the drugs is more than $24,000.

Martin was arrested and charged with felony manufacturing marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia. Martin was jailed under an $8,500.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on August 17.
