Chatham County family retaliates for arrest by kidnapping juvenile

Pittsboro, NC - Five members of a Chatham County family have been arrested on various charges connected with breaking and entering, kidnapping and child sex crimes. The first arrest took place on May 28, Daniel Gonzalez-Sosa, 50, of 45 Beaumont Lane, Pittsboro was arrested by Deputy Mitchell Vickers for Indecent Liberties with Child, Kidnapping, Assault on Child under 12. He was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on June 8.

Following this arrest, investigators believed that members of Mr. Gonzalez-Sosa’s family, listed below broke into a residence connected with the juvenile victim of his case. Investigators believe that the persons there were not allowed to leave and were threatened as a result of Mr. Gonzalez-Sosa’s arrest. That incident occurred on May 29, 2015. No one was injured during the event. As a result, the below persons were charged. No additional information regarding the case is being released by investigators at this time.
On May 29, Erika Haydee Gonzalez, 40, of 153 Thornwood Dr, Sanford was arrested by Deputy Brian Inman for Kidnapping, Intimidating Witness, Simple Assault, Breaking and Entering, and Communicating Threats. She was jailed under a $80,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 6.

On May 29, Elizabeth Gonzalez-Sosa, 49, of 45 Beaumont Ln, Pittsboro was arrested by Deputy Brian Inman for Intimidating Witness, Communicating Threats, and Breaking and Entering. She was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on June 17.

On May 29, Kevin Gonzalez,20, of 413 N Dogwood Ave, Siler City was arrested by Deputy Brian Inman for Kidnapping, Intimidating Witness and Breaking and Entering. He was jailed under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 6.

On May 29, Miguel Gonzalez, 46, of 153 Thornwood, Sanford was arrested by Deputy Brian Inman for Kidnapping, Intimidating a Witness, and Breaking and Entering. He was jailed under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 6.
