Sheriff's office makes felony drug arrest

Pittsboro, NC - Deputies from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Pittsboro man on a felony drug charge on the morning of March 5th after a traffic stop was conducted on Big Woods Road near Jordan Lake. The stop was the result of deputies looking for a wanted man from Orange County. The subject of the stop did not have a driver’s license.

Officer Raymond Barrios seized a small amount of Marijuana on the person of Jeffrey Steele II, 26, of 1570 Bynum Road, Pittsboro after he processed him at the Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested without incident and charged with Felonious Possession of a Controlled Substance at a Detention Facility, Driving While License Revoked and No Insurance on Vehicle. He was jailed under a $3,500.00 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on April 18.
