Pittsboro, NC - Anthony Jeffries, 18, of 1207 Boyer Street, Raleigh and George Jones, 20, of 6284 Stag Trail, Wendell were arrested on Thursday by Chatham County Deputies for 3 separate counts of financial transaction card theft. The arrest was based upon a two-week long investigation conducted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigation Division.

Garner Police Officers found the two suspects in possession of credits cards belonging to the victim, Ann Drake, of Beaver Dam Road, Chapel Hill. She reported to deputies that on June 4th, unknown subject(s) broke into her car and stole her purse. Garner officers told detectives that Jeffries and Jones were attempting to purchase a camera in a local store with victim’s, check card.
Garner Officers charged the two with Possession of Stolen Property, Forgery and Uttering and Larceny. Both Men were arrested by Detective Latisha Allen with 3 counts of Felonious Financial Transaction Theft.
Both were charged in the Wake County Jail and were given a $21,000.00 secured bond and are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on June 29.
