Chatham deputies make arrest in Governor's Club breakins

Chapel Hill, NC - On Thursday, June 12, 2014 investigators from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Chapel Hill police department and Orange County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest for two residential break-ins that occurred at the Governor’s Club in March 2014. The incidents occurred on Iredell and on Stokes within the gated community.

Arrested was 21 year old, Michael Thomas Stephenson of Hwy 54, Carrboro, NC. Stephenson was charged with two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering, two counts of Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, two counts of Injury to Personal Property and one count of safecracking. Mr. Stephenson was already in custody at the Orange County Detention Facility on other similar charges when he was arrested.

Bond for his Chatham County matters was set at $5,000 unsecured. Mr. Stephenson is scheduled to be in Chatham County District Court on July 07, 2014.
