Bynum, NC - Two men have been arrested in connection with a breaking and entering that occurred on Tuesday near Bynum. Alex McKinney, 27, of 199 South Small Street, Pittsboro and Joel Currie, 28, of 358 Brittany Lane, Chapel Hill were arrested as a result of an investigation conducted by Detective Latisha Allen of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office.
At 3:30 pm, on June 20, Deputies responded to 144 Williams Pond Road and spoke to Emily Harris at that address. She told officers that someone had broke into her house by prying open the front door and taking a Television, DVD Player and Miscellaneous DVD’s. Detective Allen developed the two suspects shortly afterwards and obtained warrants on June 26.


McKinney was released under a $2,500.00 unsecured bond and Currie was released on a written promise. Both are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 20.
