Bear Creek, NC - Chatham County deputies arrested a Bear Creek man after they responded to a suspicious fire call. On Monday afternoon, officers responded to 7000 Siler City-Glendon Road, Bear Creek in reference to a subject setting fire to his girlfriend’s property.

Keith Allen Green, 47, of same address was sitting on the front porch drinking beer when deputies arrived at the home. They went to the back of the house and found a fire and several personal items destroyed and scorched. They walked through the home and found numerous items damaged including a television, computer and clothes. It appeared that Green had dumped gallons of gasoline inside the home and prepared to set it on fire. Green’s girlfriend, Ann Ledwell, was not at home at the time and was notified after Green was placed in custody.

Deputy Robert Miller arrested Green and charged him with Felonious Second Degree Arson, Felonious Burning of Personal Property, and Communicating Threats. He was jailed under no bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on January 19th.
