Deputies arrest Bear Creek man on cocaine charges

Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, the Special Incident Response Team (SIRT) and a Special Operations Counter Drug Agent of the National Guard executed a search warrant on Friday night at 5467 Old Hwy 421 South, Bear Creek; the residence of John Christopher Slade, 26. The raid was the result of an extensive undercover narcotics operation located at the address.

Agents arrested Slade after he attempted to escape out the back door of the residence and dispose of 5 grams of cocaine. Officers also seized $148.00 in cash and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. He was arrested without further incident and charged with Felony possession with intent to sell and deliver Cocaine, Felony possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Slade was placed under a $10,000.00 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on August 17.
