Armed robbery at Governor's Village PNC Bank

Chapel Hill, NC - The Chatham County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of an armed robbery at PNC Bank in Governor's Village earlier this morning.

Two white males wearing Halloween masks entered bank both displaying handgun. One suspect was wearing blue and black plaid shirt, blue jeans and blue gloves. The other suspect was wearing an NC State hoodie, blue jeans and blue gloves. Both suspects left on foot and are still at large.

The FBI has been contacted and advised they would render assistance if needed. Officers have utilized K9 to track where suspects were last seen. A money bag was located a short distance from the scene.

Chatham County authorities conducted a reverse 911 (Code Red) to alert the nearby business and residents of the robbery and suspect information. The Willow Oak Montessori School and Carolina Meadows were notified and locked down as soon as the robbery call came in to 911.
