Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Democratic Party kicks off the opening of its campaign headquarters in Pittsboro with an Obama-Biden cook-out and rally on Labor Day, September 1 from 3 pm to 6 pm.

This year's Democratic Party Headquarters are located at the Chatham County Fairgrounds, 191 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

The timing of the opening of the County Party Headquarters coincides with the state and national Get Out the Vote campaign. The goal is to register and rally Democrats, Independents and Republicans who will then cast their vote for the Democratic ticket from top to bottom.

Karl Kachergis, Chatham County Democratic Chair states, "This campaign year is a history making "movement, not just a moment" and we are proud to be standing on the shoulders of so many Democrats who have worked so hard to make a "dream team"ticket possible. We are fired up and ready to go and we need all the volunteers and voters we can get to put Obama-Biden and all our candidates over the top."

The African American Caucus, an auxiliary of the Democratic Party will co-host the opening. We are encouraging everyone, especially African Americans, to come out and participate in this kick-off to a "run for victory".

"We must step up now and answer the call to action", states Margie Ellison, Chair of the Caucus.

All democratic candidates who are running for offices have been invited to speak and meet and greet at the event. For more information please contact Dan Frasier at 919-968-9906, Karl Kachergis at 919-542-3458 or 919-444-1346, or Margie Ellison, 919-837-8738.
