F.A.C.T. is hosting two Candidate's Forums, the first will be for School Board, beginning at 7:30 PM on Thursday evening, May 20, in the multi-purpose room at CCCC's Pittsboro campus. Questions you want answered can be submitted in advance by email to; by snail mail to F.A.C.T., PO Box 1548, Pittsboro, 27312; or written on cards available to those who attend the forum(s). County Commissioner candidates will have their turn on Thursday, June 10, same time and place, questions can be submitted in advance in the same manner. Rules for questions are simple:

1. Posed in such a way that every candidate (in a specific forum) can answer.
2. Be brief and to the point - (keep "background" statements short.)
3. Inappropriate and/or inflammatory comments in "prefaces" are unacceptable.
4. Identities of persons submitting questions will be kept strictly confidential, however we do need contact information in the event that the question submitted needs clarification.

Questions asked and answers given (in their entirety) will be posted on the Chatham F.A.C.T. website as soon as possible after each forum. Brief profiles of each candidate are currently posted, and will be updated as more information is obtained. Also, more features will be added to the site very soon. We think site-users will find more information, more readily available when these features become operational.

Please remember, F.A.C.T. is a non-partisan, information and education group - we DO NOT, CAN NOT, and WILL NOT endorse ANY candidate - our mission is to provide voters an opportunity to learn about the candidates based on what the candidates have to say - first hand. Most of those who attended our first Forums (more than 400,) in 2002, told us they found out a great deal about each of the candidates just seeing them and hearing their responses in person - many said the Forums were more revealing than any news article or internet information they had seen.

Read everything, listen to everyone, then close that curtain and make your own choices, based on your own opinions. Chatham county will grow and will change - YOUR vote will decide how.
