Pittsboro, NC - Just put one paw in front of the other and your family is all set to join the fun at the Woof-A-Palooza dog walk benefiting Chatham Animal Rescue and Education, Inc. (C.A.R.E.). The 4th Annual Woof-A-Palooza will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2005, from 10 am to 2 pm, on the campus of Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro, NC. You and your pet will have a howling good time as you enjoy the activities, shopping, contests, demonstrations and refreshments. At the walk, C.A.R.E. will be collecting items for the animal victims of Hurricane Katrina in partnership with Emergency Animal Rescue Services (EARS), a division of United Animal Nations. EARS will be taking the donated Items to the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Items needed are animal beds, feed and water bowls (disposable or stainless steel), leashes and collars, wet wipes, wire cages, hand sanitizer, rubber gloves, zip ties, duct tape, quality dry pet food, disposable small litter pans, cotton swabs, puppy and kitten formula. To make a monetary donation to support the EARS efforts, visit their website at www.uan.org.

Participating in Woof-A-Palooza will help save the lives of animals in our local community. Top fundraisers will receive prizes at this year's Woof walk including 2 domestic roundtrip coach tickets on American Airlines, a weekend beach getaway at Ocean Isle Beach or a Kodak digital camera. Walk applications and additional information about CARE are available online at www.chathamanimalrescue.org

Chatham Animal Rescue and Education, Inc. is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit humane society. All the animals in the C.A.R.E. system are fostered in volunteer foster homes. C.A.R.E. pays for food and routine medical expenses such as spay or neuter, rabies vaccinations, deworming and vaccinations. Adoption fees cover the very basic medical expenses of animals, but they do not cover additional treatments that some animals require. Donations, pledges and sponsorships from the walk will be used to help pay the veterinary expense of animals in the C.A.R.E. system.
