Winter tree hike for youngsters coming in February

Pittsboro, NC - Young people in Chatham County are invited to learn more about trees in the winter landscape during special hikes on Feb. 9 and 10, jointly offered by the Grand Trees of Chatham Committee and the Triangle Land Conservancy.

The program materials target young people ages four to ten, but other age groups are welcome too. The hikes begin at 2 pm at the White Pines Nature Preserve, about eight miles south of Pittsboro.

The hikes will happen rain or shine and participants should dress for the weather, including good walking shoes. Please leave pets at home.
