Two people were rescued Monday after they were stranded on the Haw River in Pittsboro.
Emergency officials said they received the call around 4:30 p.m. Monday. Crews were able to reach the two people who were stranded on an island on the Haw River.
There are no reports of any injuries.
Heavy rains from Sunday and Monday contributed to the high river level.
