Chatham county, NC - On Sunday, May 3, motorcyclists will take to the roads for the sixth year in the Triangle to raise funds for fighting a disease that strikes children at the beginning of their lives.

Hundreds of motorcyclists will ride through the scenic countryside around Jordan Lake in a visually stunning column, beginning and ending at the White Oak Recreation Area at Jordan Lake State Park. Their goal is to raise money for research into pediatric brain tumors, which are the deadliest type of childhood cancer.

The leisurely 47 mile “Ride for Kids” is escorted by the motorcycle officers of the Cary Police Department. The Chatham County Sherriff’s office along with the Pittsboro police and area fire departments will block intersections for a non-stop ride. It will culminate with a Celebration of Life program featuring onstage interviews with local childhood brain tumor survivors and award presentations to top fundraising chapters/clubs, individuals and motorcycle businesses.

Enjoy free coffee, Biscuitville biscuits and Dunkin Donuts for breakfast and a light lunch from Jersey Mike’s at the end.

Proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s medical research grants and family support programs.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:45 a.m. Ride leaves at 10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine. The White Oak Recreation Area is located off U.S. 64, east of the lake bridge at Jordan Lake State Park.
