Pittsboro, NC - Three teens died Sunday when their car veered out of control and struck a rock and trees in Pittsboro.
The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. on Fire Tower Road, about a half-mile north of Pittsboro.

Fire Tower Road is about a half-mile east of U.S. 15/501 and a half-mile or so southwest of the U.S. 64 East bypass.
Jeffery Lamont Austin was driving south when his car ran off the right side of the road, then veered left back across the road and struck a tree. The car struck a rock, rolled and struck another tree.
Demetrius Austin and Brandon Womble were passengers in the car; all three died in the crash.
None were wearing seat belts, Maynor said.
Jeffrey Austion was 16 and lived on Austin Chapel Road.
Demetrius Austin was 13 and lived on Tom Womble Road, which is off the northern end of Fire Tower Road.
Brandon Womble was 15 and lived on U.S. 64 East.
Dr. Ann Hart, Superintendent of the Chatham County Board of Education, said letters will go out to parents explaining the tragic accident and that counselors will be available at the schools.
