Pittsboro, NC - The National Weather Service reported at 9:50 pm EST that snow showers will move through the central Piedmont through 1 a.m. Snow was spotted in Pittsboro and surrounding areas.

A large area of showers will move East through the central Piedmont through 1 am. Embedded in large area of snow showers are several small bands of heavy snow.

Snow rates of an inch in 30 minutes or less are possible with these heavier bands. Total snow accumulations are expected to range from one to two inches with some accumulations on roads.

Locations impacted include Roxboro, Hillsborough, Siler City, Pittsboro, and Bahama. The precipitation is expected to taper off to a light drizzle or flurries before completely ending by 2 am.
