Pittsboro, NC - St. Bartholomew's Church of Pittsboro announces the appointment of our new rector, Father Wilberforce Mundia.

Fr. Mundia is a native of Kenya and now a permanent resident in the USA. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Oak Hill College, in London, a master’s degree at Trinity College, in Ohio, and a doctorate in theology from Boston University. He is currently an associate professor at Shaw University in Raleigh, where he also serves as president of the faculty senate.

Before coming to Shaw University, Fr. Mundia worked with Food for the Poor, an international and inter-denominational agency that seeks to alleviate the plight of the poor in Third World countries, with special focus on the Caribbean.

In addition to extensive parish work in the dioceses of Massachusetts and Western Massachusetts, Fr. Mundia has previously served in North Carolina as Vicar at the Church of the Epiphany in Rocky Mount, Associate Pastor at Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Apex, and Priest-in-Charge at St. Matthias in Louisburg.

Join the St. Bartholemew's congregation for Sunday services at 8 am or 10:30 am and enjoy Father Mudia's enthusiasm and experience.

St. Bartholemew's is a historic Episcopal church on Salisbury Street in downtown Pittsboro.
