Pittsboro, NC - An early morning wake up with a country breakfast begins the day of cycling for the 5th Annual Ride Without Limits. As cyclists leave Camp Royall, just outside Pittsboro, NC, they begin their cycling day with the sun coming up over the rural countryside and farmlands that central NC is known for. You'll travel through the town of Pittsboro and then head out onto some of the most scenic rural roads that our state has to offer, bypassing wide open pastures, beautiful horse farms and crossing gorgeous lakes and streams as you have the chance to witness parts of our great state that few often have the pleasure of seeing.

Ride Without Limits Fact Sheet

When: August 27-28, 2011

What: Ride Without Limits is a fully supported two day cycling event that challenges the body and rewards the spirit. Celebrating its 5th year, Ride Without Limits is one of the signature cycling events in North Carolina. To support the mission of Easter Seals UCP, the Ride is all about inclusion. Riders of all levels are invited to join in this amazing event and each rider can choose between a 38 mile, 64 mile or 100 mile route each day. On Saturday, we will also offer an Ironman distance – 112 miles. Along the route, fully-stocked rest stops with smiling volunteers are stationed every 12-14 miles. After returning to camp, riders are greeted with an amazing celebration, featuring delicious food and live entertainment.

Location: Ride Without Limits starts and ends each day at Camp Royall in Moncure, NC (just outside of downtown Pittsboro). Address: 250 Bill Ash Road, Moncure, NC.

Start Time: 100 & 112 mile routes will launch at 7:30am; 38 & 64 mile routes will launch at 8:00am each day. Early check in will take place on Friday from 4:30pm – 7:30pm at the dining hall. Check in will open at 6:30am on Saturday morning at the start line.

Lodging: Cabins are available on a first reserved basis. To reserve a spot in one of our cabins, please email Cabins are air conditioned with shared sleeping rooms, laundry facilities and two common bathrooms. All supplies must be brought from home (linens – twin size, toiletries and laundry detergent).

On site camping is also available. Designated areas will be used for tents. Unfortunately, we can not provide RV hook ups.

These hotels are also located within a 15 minute drive and have offered reduced rates to Ride Without Limits participants. HOTEL INFO

Meals: All meals are included for RWL participants, volunteers and family members. If you will have family joining us for meals, please email so we can add them to the guest list. Friday night will feature a baked potato and salad bar; full breakfast will be served both Saturday and Sunday in the dining hall; lunch will be served on the route and at camp both Saturday and Sunday; and dinner Saturday and Sunday will be provided at the dining hall.

Celebration: After dinner on Saturday, we will have a celebration outside of the dining hall featuring live music by Chris Hendricks band and our awards ceremony. Please encourage your family and friends to attend with you. You don’t want to miss this!

KidsZone: On Saturday, from 12pm -4pm we will have a KidsZone located at Camp - complete with games, facepainting, carnival food and bounce houses! A great place for the family to hang out while you are out on the route! The swimming pool will also be open with lifeguards on duty.

Where the money goes: Money raised will benefit Easter Seals UCP programs and services including preschool, developmental education and therapy, residential services, supported employment and training, respite care, foster care services, family support and more. Give confidently knowing that $0.90 of every dollar is used to provide direct services for children and adults with disabilities.
