Pittsboro, NC - Ms. Kim Cotten of Pittsboro was selected in February 2008 to participate in the E.A. Morris Fellowship for Emerging Leaders program.
The E.A. Morris Fellowship program encourages committed, diverse, and principled North Carolinians to pursue greater leadership roles within their professions and communities. Morris Fellows attend three weekend retreats across North Carolina to
participate in lectures and discussions related to public policy, economics, ethics, and leadership. The focus of the yearlong leadership effort is a final project. Each Fellow establishes or expands upon a leadership role in a volunteer effort, community service project, business-led task force, or public sector undertaking. By the end of the Fellowship year, the project is expected to be beginning its operational phase with evidence that it will have a positive impact on the community and those involved.
"We are proud to welcome this outstanding class of Fellows to our program," said Dr. Karen Palasek, Director of the E.A. Morris Fellowship program. "The Fellows represent a wide variety of professions from all over the state of North Carolina."
Morris Fellows are selected on the basis of their recommendations, application, and a formal interview. The program is underwritten by the E.A. Morris Charitable Foundation and the John William Pope Foundation and is a project of the John Locke Foundation. More information can be found online at www.eamorrisfellows.org.
