Get ready for ClydeFEST 2012

Bynum, NC - The 11th Annual Kids Carnival of Folk Art fun promises to be the "best FEST yet". Mark your calendars to help ChathamArts celebrate everyone's favorite local folk artist, Clyde Jones at the Bynum Ballfield on Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date is Sunday, April 15, noon - 5 p.m.).

ClydeFEST focuses on providing children with an authentic Chatham County arts experience as well as one that is educational and engaging.

One parent claims, “My daughter looks forward to ClydeFEST as much as she looks forward to Santa Claus!”

ChathamArts believes her, and we’re darned proud. ChathamArts has heard the outcry from our local parents exclaiming the need for more engaging and enriching family activities. According to them, ChathamArts’ ClydeFEST Celebration delivers with unequaled panache.

ChathamArts’ signature event, ClydeFEST is an all day Kids’ Carnical Folk Art Festival of Art, Games, Music, Magic, Clowns, Hula Hoops, Local Food, and loads of other fun and excitement. The event celebrates legendary, international folk art hero, Clyde Jones and also has an environmental education focus!

It all happens at the Bynum Ballpark, also known as Earl Thompson Recreation Park at 173 Bynum Hill Road from 11am – 4pm, Join the fun in Clyde’s Critterville, where kids will paint and glitter their own Clyde Critter cut-out to take home. Kids can play original Clyde-themed games, make their own art, enjoy delicious food and revel in live entertainment on the Bynum Front Porch Stage.

Admission is $3 for children under 12, $7 for adults. Adult tickets include a raffle ticket for a chance to win a Clyde Critter. Bynum is located off of U.S. 15-501 between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill.

Proceeds benefit ChathamArts and our new Clyde Jones Scholarship Fund in honor of and in partnership with the wonderful community of Bynum, NC!
