Chatham County, NC - For a fundraising initiative to be successful, it requires the involvement of the larger community. Here in Chatham County, we are lucky to have so many volunteers, community and non-profit organizations, and individual and corporate contributors that want to play a part. Among them, our corporate sponsors tend to play more of a “behind-the-scenes” role, but they’re no less important for their donations.

One such silent contributor is Silver sponsor Chapel Hill Tire Car Care Center. A family-owned auto repair and tire facility that has been around since 1953, Chapel Hill Tire Car Care Center has woven itself into the fabric of the Chatham County and Chapel Hill communities, and is well-known for its standards of excellence and reliability.

The company is active in the support of children and community programs. Says owner Marc Pons: “It’s important for us to give back to the community that has supported us for over 50 years.”

The company’s strong community relationships are based on treating everyone like family. The result is a loyal set of customers that trust their mechanics, an important attribute in a time of increasingly complex car technology. In the words of an appreciative customer: “Not only was your follow up call an answer to my prayer, but also a renewal of my trust and appreciation for kind and caring service in business.”

This is the kind of philosophy that has also drawn Chapel Hill Tire Car Care Center into striving to be a good corporate citizen. Signing up as a Silver sponsor for the Relay was a natural choice for Marc: “We’re proud to be associated with a cause as notable as the Pittsboro Relay for Life. Many of us have known victims of this dreadful disease, and we’re also happy to have survivors amongst our friends. We feel that our contribution is just one small way to help the great work that the American Cancer Society is doing.”
