Chatham County Senior Games qualify for State Finals

Pittsboro, NC - North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. is pleased to announce that Chatham County Senior Games has been sanctioned as an official qualifying site for State Finals 2009.

Chatham County Senior Games for people ages 55 and better will be held in Pittsboro and Siler City on April 22- 29, 2009. The Senior Games are designed as a wellness and prevention program to keep the body, mind, and spirit fit while enjoying the company of friends, family, spectators, and volunteers.

Chatham County Senior Games will be presented by Council on Aging, Parks and Recreation Department, Public Health Department, Galloway Ridge and the Duke Center for Living at Fearrington. The Council on Aging and Parks and Recreation are also sponsors, along with The Laurels of Chatham and N.C Division of Aging and Adult Services.

Chatham County Senior Games offers competition in many sports and art activities, such as golf, bowling, tennis, bocce, horseshoes, swimming, track and field, softball and football throw, basketball shooting, visual, literary, performing, and heritage arts.

For volunteer, sponsorship or registration information, please contact Lindsay Straughn at (919) 542-4512. All registration forms are due by Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing year-round health promotion and wellness for adults 55 years of age and better. NCSG, Inc. is sponsored statewide by the N. C. Division of Aging and Adult Services.
