New Automation System to be Installed
Pittsboro, NC - All branches of the Chatham County Library system, including the county's Bookmobile, will be closed from Thursday, March 19, through Tuesday, March 24, for the installation of a new automation system. All libraries and the bookmobile will reopen for regular hours beginning Thursday, March 25.
The Chatham County Libraries will no longer be sharing an automation system with their former regional partner, Alamance County. “The new system will have greater reliability and provide better service to our citizens because Chatham County will be maintaining the system on our servers,” said Linda Clarke, library director for Chatham County.
During the transition period, patrons may continue to return books at any branch library by placing them in the book drops. Fines will be suspended during the days the library is closed.
