Pittsboro, NC - Here is what is going on at the Chatham County public libraries this week.

Tuesday, April 28
10am Preschool Story Time

Wednesday, April 29
2pm The Science of Nutrition. You're invited to a presentation and interactive discussion led by Howard Jacobson, PhD, contributing author to WHOLE: Rethinking the Science of Nutrition, about health, medicine, and lifestyle. Dr. Jacobson will present the latest and best science on lifestyle, medicine, and health.
For example, do you know if the following statements are true or false, based on scientific research? Olive oil is a health food. PSA testing and mammograms reduce your risk of dying of prostate and breast cancer. It's a good idea to have your vitamin D levels tested every year because low vitamin D levels cause disease. Taking aspirin daily can reduce the risk of heart disease.
