Pittsboro, NC - Do your summer plans include reading, listening to audiobooks, using the computer, or watching movies? Chatham Community Library has materials, programs, services, and activities for all ages this summer. Here's a rundown of the upcoming events at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro this week

This Wednesday, June 15 at 6 p.m.: Morningstar Investment Research Center Live Broadcast

Learn about this popular (and FREE) online financial database that can help you research companies, select stocks and funds, print reports, and much more. A live remote broadcast by a Morningstar representative will give you an overview of this valuable resource. The program is free but class size is limited to 15 participants, so pre-registration is a must. Contact the reference desk at (919) 545-8086 to reserve your space.

This Friday, June 17 at 7 p.m.: author Rosecrans Baldwin kicks off Chatham Community Library's first Literary Fair!

Come hear this co-founder of the popular online magazine "The Morning News" and author of the novel "You Lost Me There," chosen by NPR as one of the best books of 2010. This program is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required. For more information, contact the library at (919) 545-8084.

This Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m.: Local children's authors kick off Chatham Community Library's Summer Reading program!

Join us for a morning of readings by local children's authors Laura Baldwin, Betty Thomas, Madison McDiarmid, and Adrienne Bashista, plus music by librarian/musician Carrie Boone. Register for the summer reading program, which begins at CCL on Tuesday, June 21. Free and open to the public. For more information contact children's services at (919) 545-8085.

Mark your calendars for a family-friendly Australian-style extravaganza on Saturday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. Join Digeridoo Downunder as they present an Australian-themed program featuring the music of the digeridoo, puppets, and more! Free and open to the public, reservations are not required.
