Pittsboro, NC - Here's a rundown of the upcoming events at the Chatham Community Library in Pittsboro this December.

Tuesday, December 14 at 9:30 a.m.: Infant story timeStories for babies ages 0 to 2 and their caregivers. Meets in the Lakritz Story Room. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring canned food for donations to CORA.

Tuesday, December 14 at 10:30 a.m.: Pre-school story timeStories for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers. Meets in the Lakritz Story Room. No registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring canned food for donations to CORA.

Thursday, December 16 at 7 p.m.: The Friends of the Library present a program with Suzy Barile, author of "Undaunted Heart," about the unlikely romance between a southern belle and a Yankee general at the end of the Civil War.. Meets in the Holmes Meeting Room. Free and open to the public.

Friday, December 17 at 10 a.m.: Join the Library Morning Crafters' Group! Bring your knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, or other needle arts projects and a snack. Enjoy conversation and camaraderie as you work on your individual projects. Meets in the Holmes Meeting Room. Free and open to the public; reservations are not necessary. Friday, December 17 at 7 p.m.: Ellen Bland's Intro to Drama Class presents "A Rough Night at the North Pole" in the Holmes Meeting Room. This program is appropriate for children in grades K and up and their families and will include music and an appearance by Pittsboro's own "Ubi" the clown. Free; however, due to extremely limited space pre-registration is a must. To register, call (919) 545-8085.

Did you know? The Chatham Community Library has 34 public access computers! All you need to use a computer is a Chatham County Library card which is free. Just ask at the front desk.

Chatham Community Library is open M - Th 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., F 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
