Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Council on Aging wants to start a local hiking group for mature adults that will explore trails throughout the area, but needs participants. The group targets, but is not limited to, hikers age 55 and up.
If interested, plan to attend an organizational meeting on Monday, January 28, at 2 pm at the Eastern Chatham Senior Center located at 365 NC Hwy 87 N in Pittsboro.
Possible hike locations include: Fearrington Village, Briar Chapel, Robeson Creek Greenway, American Tobacco Trail, Haw River Trail, N.C. Botanical Garden in Chapel Hill, New Hope Overlook and the Fan Branch Trail in Chapel Hill.
The organizational meeting will help set the schedule and locations for the group. For more information contact Lindsay Hickling at 919-542-4512.
