Pittsboro, NC - A major move of employees will require Chatham County Social Services offices in Pittsboro to be closed to the public longer than originally reported for Friday, Oct. 3. The phone system also will be affected by the move, according to Sandy Coletta, director of Social Services.
Social services clients and other visitors should know the following:
Coletta said that “we would like to keep the offices open longer, but the move of offices and the receptionist area, including the phone system console, will create major disruption in the facility.”
The Child Support Office is affected the most because it is moving into the renovated offices on Camp Drive from its current location at 89 Chatham Street in Pittsboro. “Child support clients should know that they will not be able to reach our staff at all on Oct. 3rd.”
Coletta advised that is a good idea for social services clients or other visitors to avoid any Oct. 3rd visits and phone calls if they can. “Try to get your business done before or after the move date, because it will be a hectic day and it will be hard to find people, especially if they are moving their offices.”
This is the last phase of a major renovation of and addition to Social Services facilities in Pittsboro. “We know that being unavailable for part or all of Oct. 3rd will be hard on some of our residents, but the completed facility will vastly improve customer service. We expect this to be the last time that we have to close or shut down the phones.”
