The Chatham County Planning Board will have a special meeting Monday to make a final recommendation on whether commissioners should approve a conditional use permit for Briar Chapel, a 2,400-home development that would be off U.S. 15-501 across from Fearrington Village.

The board began discussing the project at its last regularly scheduled meeting but decided it needed to hold a special meeting to go through the proposal before making a decision.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the Pittsboro Memorial Library.
